A final note, in preparing this bowl and these pictures, I failed to show the process of removing the tenon on the bottom... This is done by reversing the bowl again and holding it in a Longworth Chuck (A special chuck designed specifically for the process of finishing the bottom of a bowl.). The tenon is removed and the bottom squared and sanded for finishing. At a later date, when I'm doing another similar sized bowl, I'll try to remember to photograph that process and add here.
