| Maple Bowl, 8 1/2 inches diameter x 4 inches high Finished with multiple coats of wipe on polyurethane and buffed with Carnuba Wax (Acer saccharum) Hard heavy straight grained wood with a fine texture. Sapwood is white and selected for its color, heartwood is light reddish brown. Turns well, stains fair, finishes well. A native tree of USA and Canada This piece is cut from a chunk of wood that appeared to be a crotch piece.. a place where two limbs or parts of the trunk met. Often on crotch pieces we will get bark inclusions between the two sections of the trunk. The bark inclusion is the heavy dark portion of this bowl. Item Nr: 10-766 $65.00 |
