All of my bottle stoppers are one of a kind. The size of the turning will be determine by the size of the blank I begin with, but the shapes
are free forms that develops as I work with the wood. I envision the general shape I want as I start to turn, but the flow of the turning
will determine the final outcome.
The color patterns in the laminate wood, Color Grain and Dymondwood, is determined by the direction of the cut of the wood. Straight
cuts will give the eye effect in the pieces, diagonal cuts will create a looping effect down the side of the piece.
The color patterns in natural wood is determine in much the same way. Natural woods often have different grain patterns, such as burls
or spalted woods that will have a marbling effect or other dramatic configuration.
